Funeral Service for Kelvin Dewayne Lewis was held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 12 p.m. at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church, 2975 Tuscahoma Road, Butler (Mt. Sterling), Alabama with Rev. Darryl Bush, Officiating.  Rev. Wendell Charleston, Pastor. Interment followed in Lilly Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, Alabama.

Kelvin Dewayne Lewis was born on December 7, 1964, in Butler, Alabama, to the late Mr. Jesse Lewis, Sr. and Ms. Ethel LaDoris Turner.  He confessed his life to Christ at an early age and joined Fairview Baptist Church.  Kelvin departed this life for his heavenly home on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.

He graduated from Choctaw County High School, and shortly afterwards, attended Job Corps, where he received a trade in Advanced Cement Masonry.  He was well known by family and friends for his incredible craftsmanship; not only with regards to his reputation as a fantastic Cement Mason Journeyman, but also for his ability to design and build most anything he or his family desired.

Kelvin was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Lewis, Sr.; his mother, Ethel LaDoris Turner; and his brother, Jesse Lewis, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory: three sisters, Kathy Turner, Cleveland, Ohio; Vanessa Turner, Butler, Alabama; Anita Lewis, Birmingham, Alabama; three brothers, Melvin (Lori) Lewis, Montgomery, Alabama; Demetrius Mitchell, Houston, Texas; Justin (Tyjuana) Lewis, Madison, Alabama; one special friend, JoAnn Nobles, Tuscaloosa, Alabama; one special brother-in-law, Johnny Earl Turner, Butler, Alabama; one special cousin, Debra Turner, Butler, Alabama and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
