A Celebration of Life Service for Sister Mariola Wade Fowler, 63, was held Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 1:00pm at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Livingston, Alabama with Rev. Thomas Davis officiating.  Interment followed in St. Peter Baptist Church Cemetery in Emelle, AL. 

Sister Mariola Wade Fowler, known to family and friends as “Gonny”, was born on October 5, 1960 to the late L.A. Wade Sr. and Juanita Wade in Emelle, Alabama.  She was called home to rest in God’s loving arms on February 12, 2024 at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, FL.  She was preceded in death by her father, L.A. Wade, Sr.; mother, Juanita Wade; brothers, Curtis Wade and Eddie Burton; grandfathers, Jim Robinson and Washington Lewis, Jr.; grandmothers, Luburida Robinson and Mae Willie Sanders; four aunts; and five uncles.

Sister Mariola confessed Christ at an early age and joined  St. Peter Baptist Church in Emelle, AL.  She graduated from Livingston High School in 1978.  After which she began her studies at Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, AL.  She moved to Pensacola, FL in 1985 where she married Napoleon Curtis Fowler.  While living in Pensacola, she was employed by Pensacola Naval Air Station and also Corry Station.Sister Mariola leaves to cherish her memories: her one and only daughter, Aatoyya Wade of Pensacola, FL; two grandchildren, Kailey Hardaway and A.J. Tavarian Hardaway; an ex-husband, Napoleon Fowler of Aliceville, AL; three sisters, Claudia Wade of York, AL, Glenda Burton of Las Vegas, NV, Barbara Greene of Amarillo, TX; three brothers, L.A. Wade Jr. of Emelle, AL, Anthony Wade (Ora) of Harvest, AL, Otis Burton (Loraine) of Las Vegas, NV; three aunts; two uncles; and a host of other relatives and friends.
