Isaac “Ike” Johnson

Graveside Service for Isaac Johnson, age 66, was held Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 11:00am at New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Myrtlewood, AL with Rev. Johnny Doss, Jr. officiating.

Isaac Johnson was born on August 18, 1954 to the late Margorie and Isaac Johnson, Sr.  He passed from this earthly life on April 14, 2021.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Margorie and Isaac Johnson, Sr; a grandmother, Vinnie Jackson; and brother, Jerry Miller.

Isaac accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. Thomas AME Zion Church.  In 2005, he moved his membership to New Jerusalem Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories a devoted wife, Annie Joesephine Johnson; one son, Isaac Maurice Johnson; one daughter, Rochelle McGee; three stepsons, Anthony McGee, Willie Witherspoon, Tamico Witherspoon; two stepdaughters, Cartiena Riddick, Shurell Witherspoon; eighteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; six brothers, William Lawrence, Robert Johnson, Jimmy Johnson, Vincent Lawrence; four sisters, Margorie McIntosh, Mary (Joe) Steen, Lucy Jackson, Janice Jones; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Barbara Jean Gibson

Service for Barbara J. Gibson, age 73, was held Friday, April 23, 2021 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Weatherly-Studdard Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Willie Vines officiating.

Barbara Jean Gibson was born on October 21, 1947 to Isiah Landrum and Jet Lee Landrum in Nanafalia, AL.  She passed away of April 15, 2021 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Artha (Ricky) James Gibson; and a brother, Isiah Landrum, Jr.

Barbara devoted her life to Christ at an early age at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Nanafalia, AL.  She graduated from Marengo County High School in 1965.  Shortly after graduating, Barbara moved to Detroit, MI where she met her husband, Artha Gibson.  She also began a career in manufacturing at Champion Spark Plug where she worked for many years.  She later changed her career path to childcare where she began working for Child Time Daycare where she remained until retirement in 2005.  After retiring, Barbara moved back to Alabama and settled in Butler.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Tonya Landrum Snell (Nev aka Robert) of Enterprise, AL, Tamika Gibson Vaughn (Marquis) of Detroit, MI; three brothers, John Webb, Edward Menifee, Timothy Landrum; six sisters, Diane Menifee, Pamela Landrum, Tanya Landrum, Valerie Lemons, Sandra Fay Webb, Izola Vines (Willie); seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two god-daughters, Jacqueline McGrew Thompson, Mona Lipe (Curtis); and a host of other relatives, friends, and cousins (two who were more like sisters, Dorothy Jones and Margaret McGrew).
