Service for Mrs. Tawana Robinson, 62, was held Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 1:00p.m. at Bushelon Funeral Home Chapel located at 800 14th Street Southwest, Birmingham, AL 35211. Interment followed at Elmwood Cemetery and Mausoleum, 600 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, SW, Birmingham, AL 35211.
Tawana L. Robinson was born to the late Marvin and Helen Whatley on April 26, 1961 in Birmingham, AL. At an early age, she confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior. Throughout her spiritual journey, her deep and abiding faith in God led her as she continued to trust and rely upon His word.
Tawana graduated from West End High School in 1979 and later earned her associate degree in early childhood education. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Michael Q. Robinson, Sr. She was a devoted and proud mother and friend. Tawana cherished her family and always extended a helping hand to others.
Tawana departed this life and entered the presence of the Almighty on January 21, 2024. Her path to eternity was preceded by her husband, both parents, her brother, Bobby Whatley, and her granddaughter, Grace Victoria Robinson.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: sons, Michael (Monyea) Robinson, Jr., Corey (Camelia) Robinson, Victor (Petra) Robinson, Fredrick Robinson, and Chris (LaTanya) Hill; daughter, Yasheka Lewis; brother, Travis Whatley; seven grandchildren; aunt, Mrs. Etta Morgan; uncles, Joseph (Dorothy) Pritchett and Arthur Pritchett; sister-in-law, Lisa Sherrod; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
