Funeral Service for Mary Lee Pogue, age 92, was held Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Millwood Primitive Baptist Church in Pennington, AL with Pastor Marvin Johnson officiating.  Interment followed at Woodall Cemetery.

Mary Lee Pogue, known as Hackie, was born October 6, 1930, in Pennington, AL to the late Prince Dubose, Sr. and Savannah (Horn) Dubose.  She was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 25, 2022 while sleeping.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Prince Sr. and Savannah Dubose; sons, Jerry and Jimmy Holland, Walter Potter, Thomas Pogue; daughter, Shirley Ann Capers; brothers, William, Elmore, Leon, Prince Jr., and Ernest; and sister, Emily Lee Ridgeway.

Mary joined and was baptized at Millwood Primitive Baptist Church in Pennington, AL. She was a homemaker until she began working at James River, currently known as Georgia Pacific.  She enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, quilting, fishing, traveling, and baking.

Mary leaves to cherish her memories: her children Linford (Annie) Holland, Jr., Wilmington, DE; Jesse (Betty) Holland, Pennington, AL; Annette (William III) Cashaw, Havre De Grace, MD; Larry (Patricia-deceased) Pogue, Pennington, AL; Arthur (Vicki) Pogue, Pennington, AL; Jonathan (Monika) Pogue, Glendale, AZ; Anthony Pogue, Largo, FL; and Sandra Faye (Roy) Chaney, Ward, AL; siblings Thomas (Stella) DuBose and Rosalie (Jesse, Sr.) Dendy; 43 loving grandchildren; 76 great grandchildren; 29 great great-grandchildren; sister-in-law and friend, Eva Dubose; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
