Funeral Service were held for LaDonna Marie Gaines-Rackley on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at St. Mary’s United Methodist Church, 23955 Highway 10, Butler, AL with Elder Oliver Whitted, Officiating. Interment, St. Mary’s United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Gerald Goodman, Pastor.
LaDonna Marie Gaines-Rackley was born to the late Bennie and Maggie Gaines on June 5, 1973.
She joined St. Mary’s United Methodist Church at a young age and moved her membership to other churches in Birmingham, Alabama and remained an active member until death. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, niece, best friend, friend, colleague, and a member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority.
LaDonna was married to her high school “Sweetheart” Kelvin Rackley for 20 years.
She leaves to cherish her fondest memories: one son and two daughters, Kelvin Jr., Arielle and Aiyana. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Christal D. McCauley, and Valerie D. Gaines-Eddie. She leaves to cherish her loving memories: 1 brother, Marshall Gaines (Yolanda), Clinton, Maryland; 4 sisters, Rose M. Gaines, Leeds, Alabama, Synethia Brown (Darryl) Lisman, Alabama, Pastephanie Bertrand (Steve), Bowie, Maryland, Regina Crosby, Butler, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and a host of other relatives and friends.
