Service for Brother J.C. Luden, age 101, was held Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 11:00 am at Salem Baptist Church in Butler, AL with Rev. Aquilla Pack officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Brother J.C. Luden was born August 11, 1921 to the late Jeff and Lena Luden of Isney, AL. He departed this earthly life on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Lena Luden; wife of 75 years, Lenette Luden; children, Carolyn, Christine, and William E. Luden; three brothers, Preston, Grady, and L.J. Luden; and one sister, Mary Lee Luden.
Brother Luden joined Salem Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He was a faithful member until his health failed. He was appointed as the “Father of the Church” by Pastor Sam Duff. He was very faithful and appreciative of the honor. He retired from the City of Butler after working tirelessly for over thirty-two years.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: six children, Linda (Dwight) Charley, Mary Ann (Ricky) Bush, Joann Williams, all of Butler, AL, Margie Dale, Birmingham, AL, James (Bobbie) Luden, Jr., Butler, AL, John (Rosie) Luden, Albany, NY; eighteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; three great- great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
