Caroline Dixon

It is with great sorrow that Weatherly-Studdard Memorial Funeral Home acknowledges the passing of Caroline Dixon, age 87, of Ward, AL.  Mrs. Dixon gained her wings and transitioned to be with her heavenly father on March 17, 2023 at her residence surrounded by loved ones.

A memorial for Mrs. Dixon will be held at a later date.

A Memorial Service for Bernard Weatherspoon, age 74, was held Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Weatherly-Studdard Memorial Funeral Home in Butler.

Bernard Weatherspoon was born on March 12, 1949 to the late Cora Davis.  He gained his wings on March 15, 2023.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Earlean Chess-Weatherspoon; his grandson, Braxton Chess; his mother, Cora Davis; a sister, Hellen Martin; and a brother, Oscar Bennett.

Bernard was raised and went to school in McComb, MS.  After school, he went on to proudly serve his country in the National Guard and U.S. Army for more than 20 years.  He was a retired truck driver for J.B. Hunt and a dedicated father, husband, brother, uncle, and friend.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Rontavis Chess and Ashley Weatherspoon; his granddaughter, Alaysha Weatherspoon; seven siblings, Allie Morgan of McComb, MS, Deborah Darenport of Jackson, MS, Jennifer Taylor of Magnolia, MS, Rose (Robert) Kelly of McComb, MS, Alfred (Antrinette) Martin of McComb, MS, Sephus Martin of McComb, MS, and Timothy Martin of Lakewood, CA.  He also leaves a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
