James H. Studdard graduated from Jefferson State College with a degree in Mortuary Science and began his career as a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. His background in Pathology included working for the Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office, the Nashville Davidson County Medical Examiner’s Office, and Meharry Medical College – Nashville, TN. He has taught hundreds of residents at Vanderbilt University Medical Center & VA Hospital to perform autopsies, of which he has completed 10-15 thousand himself.
