Service for Latesha Renee Brookshire, 51, was held Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 11:00am at New Mt. Mariah Missionary Baptist Church in Sweetwater, AL with Reverend Chris Smith officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Latesha Renee Lee-Brookshire was born July 12, 1971 to Barbara Chaney and Eddie Jones in Choctaw County, AL. She departed this earthly life on January 21, 2023.
Latesha accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age. She was a woman of faith. She was a 1990 graduate of Choctaw County High School.
Latesha was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Leroy Brookshire, on July 12, 2016. She enjoyed taking trips with her husband and spending time with her grandchildren, friends, and family. She also loved caring for others. For many years, she worked as a Mental health Technician until her health began to fail.
She leaves fond memories to be cherished by her husband, Leroy Brookshire; her mother, Barbara Chaney; two daughters, Cerria Holley and Terriana Pritchett; one step-daughter, Jasmine Brookshire; one stepson, Antonio Mosley; five grandchildren, Chase Pritchett, Cailyn Crowell, Ja’kayla Holley, Jaiden Holley, and Jersei Williams; three sisters, Joann Mitchell, Missy Jones, and Lillie Larkin; four brothers, Anthony Lee, Tony Graham, Douglas Chaney and Eric Chaney; a sister-in-law, Katie Pabon; and a brother-in-law, Alonzo Jones. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
