Coffeeville

Obituary

Mr. Young Thomas Taylor, Jr. was born February 1, 1949, to the parentage of Mr.Young Thomas Taylor, Sr. and Mrs. Helen Kilpatrick Taylor. He was a native of Morvin, Alabama and a long time resident of Coffeeville, Alabama. Mr. Taylor transitioned from this earthly life to reward on February 8, 2026, at the age of 77 surrounded by his family at Arabella Health and Wellness in Butler, Alabama.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by both of his parents, Mr. Thomas "Bud" Taylor, Sr. and Mrs. Helen "Madea" Kilpatrick Taylor; two brothers, Willie Earl Taylor and David Charles Taylor; and one sister, Johnnie Nell Hayes.

He was the proud owner of Taylor Masonry, a profession that probably allowed him to brick the homes of some of those attending today's celebration. Mr. Taylor served as a volunteer fire fighter for the Coffeeville Fire Department. He also served the Coffeeville Community as support personnel for the local food bank distribution center. Hunting season was one of his favorite times of the year. Mom often said if he could have, he would have hunted all year long.

He joined Coffeeville Church of God in Christ. On April 29, 2009, he received the baptism of the Holy Ghost "and that with fire". Mr. Taylor was ordained as a deacon (a role he took very seriously). Deacon Taylor was a faithful and dependable member until his health would no longer permit, but he never waivered in his relationship with the Lord.

Deacon Young Thomas Taylor, Jr. leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 58 years, Mrs. Alice V. Osborne Taylor; eight children: Cornelius (Tonya) Osborne of Toney, Alabama, Gwinnette (Ray) Dixon of Harvest, Alabama, John (Lula) Osborne of Harvest, Alabama, Renee Mitchell of Nashville, Tennessee, Selina Taylor of Coffeeville, Alabama, Martina Taylor of Meridianville, Alabama, Viryonka (Andre) Howell of Madison, Alabama, and Roderick Taylor of Butler, Alabama; one faithful brother, Coley (Gladys) Taylor of Westbury, New York; two sisters: Nettie (Dwight) Clemons of Newport Richie, Florida and Ophelia Kelly of Deer Park, New York; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, church family, and other friends.
