Funeral Service for Mrs. Sadie Gordon was held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Millwood Baptist Church, 185 Old Locke Road, Pennington, Alabama.  Interment, Woodall Cemetery, Pennington, Alabama.  Elder Albert Rhone, Officiating.  Rev. Lenoise Richie, Pastor.

With profound sadness and heartfelt love, we celebrate the life of Sadie Gordon, who peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, July 01, 2026, at the age of eighty-eight (88).

Sadie was born on 11/25/1937, in Rob John, Alabama to Walter Goodwin & Emma Kate Cornelius. From an early age, she demonstrated love for God and others, which remained evident throughout her life.

She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, mother-in-law, friend, and a willing worker of Christ. She was a devoted member of Pine Grove A.M.E. Zion Church, where she faithfully served until, she transferred her membership to Millwood Primitive Baptist Church, now known as, Millwood Baptist Church, following her devoted husband, the late William Eddie Gordon, where she remained a faithful servant until her passing.

More than anything else, Sadie treasured family. She found boundless joy in spending time with loved ones, celebrating life's milestones, and creating lasting memories. Her hobbies included: gardening and cooking, and she was known for her giving heart, kindness, humor, faith, and compassion.

Sadie's beautiful life will forever be cherished by her children: Glynis (Larry) Rodgers of Pennington, Alabama, Emma (Thomas, deceased) Watson of Pennington, Alabama, Lyndye (Richard, deceased) Case of Mansfield, Texas, Cynthia (Robert, deceased) Goodwin-Lockhart of Pennington, Alabama, Alonzo Gordon of Knoxville, Tennessee, Walter (Catrina) Gordon of Birmingham, Alabama, Vickie (deceased) Gordon-Smith, Abraham (deceased) Gordon, and Rhonda (Rodney) Pettit of Fredericksburg, Virginia. A host of loving stepchildren, whom she covered in prayer daily.

Sadie leaves to cherish her loving memory to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren: Sean (Angela), Markell (Angela), Danielle, Demond, Katrina, Barry, Joey, Kirbie, Tiffany, Cordaryl (Courtney), Dexter, Justin, Morris, Skylar (Sofia), Raven, Blair (Charles), Chauncei, Elaine, Regis, Madeline, Angela, Channing, Darshae (Tommy), and Jaylen; forty-six (46) great-grandchildren; four (4) great-great grandchildren.
