A Celebration of Life Service for Ronald Wayne Gamble was held Saturday, May 31, 2025 @ 1:00pm at New Mt. Mariah Baptist Church in Nanafalia, Alabama. Rev. Kelvin Johnson serves as Pastor and Rev. Bobby Johnson served as Eulogist.  Interment followed in Gooden Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville, Alabama.

Ronald W. "Root" Gamble was born on September 24, 1968 to Robert Gamble, Sr. and Bertha Washington Gamble.  He departed this earthly life on Thursday, May 22, 2025.  He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Gamble, Sr.; his brother, Dewayne Gamble; grandparents, Wilske Gamble, Sr. and Twille Gamble; and his grandmother, Mary Monaghan.

Ronald accepted Christ at an early age and carried his faith throughout his life.  He graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1986 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree from Livingston University (now known as the University of West Alabama).  Ronald was a dedicated employee of Georgia Pacific for 24 years.

Ronald was a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Rising Star Lodge #182 and William Pride #725 OES.  He was a man of deep community ties and enduring friendships.  He was a passionate fan of the Dodgers, Rams, Lakers and Alabama/UWA football.  His hobbies included collecting sports memorabilia, creating joyful videos on TikTok, traveling, and spending time with his blue and white family (Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc).

Ronald leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Sheila Williams Gamble; his mother, Bertha Washington Gamble; six children, Keldrick Evans, Chambrea Hayes, Latrina Gamble, Jacquseya McMillian, Sharhonda Gamble, and Tyshaun Hayes; a stepdaughter, Wynter (Vincie) Cleveland; eight grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Lisa) Gamble, Jr., Shaun Gamble; two godbrothers, Harvey (Keisha) Ruffin, Dr. Myron (Shanna) Pope; one god sister, Sonya Pope; five uncles, Wilske Gamble, Jr., Ron (Johnnie) Gamble, Albert (Carolyn) Gamble, Bobby (Evelyn) Gamble, Henry Gamble; three aunts, Berlean Curtis, Ethel (Gregory) Williams, Sharon Gamble; father & mother-in-law, Matthew (Terri) Dixon; loyal friends, Elton (Latoya) Agee, Rodney Cook, Labarron Ambrose; a devoted cousin, Brenda Wilson; and a host of other family and friends.
