A Memorial Service for Robert Lewis Hopkins, 56, was held Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 11:00am at Trinity Tabernacle of Faith, Inc. in
Lisman, AL with Pastor Cecil Hopkins officiating.
Robert was born on December 12, 1966 to the union of thelate Charlie and the late Mary Thomas Hopkins in Butler, AL. He gained his wings on Sunday, December 18,2022 at St. Vincent Hospital East in Birmingham, AL after suffering renal failure. He was preceded in death by his
parents, Charlie and Mary Hopkins; his father-in-law, Jesse Lee Boswell; a niece, Cecille Danielle Hopkins; and a great niece, Charlee AnnMarie Fenderson.
Robert attended Salem Baptist Church in Butler, AL as a child but transferred his membership to Trinity Tabernacle of Faith in Lisman,
AL under the leadership of Elder Cecil Hopkins. His early education was received in the Choctaw County Public School System. After graduating from CCHS in1985, Robert furthered his education by attending Alabama State University(ASU) in Montgomery, AL, majoring in Criminal Justice. After graduation, he started his first full time job with the Montgomery Group Home as a House Parent. From there, he advanced to Tuscaloosa County Juvenile Detention Center in Tuscaloosa, AL and United Methodist Children's Home and back to Montgomery, AL to the Alabama Department of Youth Services, Mt. Meigs Campus. After some years, he changed his career path and began work as a production crew member at PHC-PHA Body Systems, LLC in Montgomery, AL. He soon advanced to Production Supervisor in that job and retired from the workforce in December, 2020.
On November 25, 1995, Robert married the love of his life, Kesia T. Boswell. Two sons were born tothis union, Stephen Tyler Hopkins and Phillip Aaron Hopkins.
Robert leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Kesia Boswell Hopkins of Montgomery, AL; two sons, Stephen T. and Phillip A.

Hopkins of Duncanville, AL, Thomas (Rose) Hopkins, Martha Hopkins-Wallace, both of Butler, AL, Elsie (Curtis) Smith of Northport, AL, Phyllis Hopkins of Butler, AL; a brother-in-law, Derrick (Irene) Boswell of Montgomery, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
