Patricia A. Parker was born on October 31, 1948 to Sylvester and Rosetta Miller Anderson. She peacefully transitioned to her heavenly Father on March 8, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Myra Marzette; four brothers, Marvin Miller, Hilton Anderson, Cecil Anderson and Danny Anderson; a brother-in-law, Richard Stokes; and a sister-in-law, Darlene Anderson.
Patricia was a member of Butler Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church where she served in many roles including Trustee Board, Steward Board, Minister of Kindness Steward, Women's Home and Overseas Missionary (WHOMS), and Deaconess. Her most fulfilling role was working as a Christian Education missionary with her BUDS. She found great joy working with children.
Patricia served selflessly as a nurse dedicating her life to caring for others. She was a nurse for 43 years and an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with the local ambulance service. Being passionate about the health of her community, she served on the Choctaw County Health Council and in her retirement, she was a volunteer for the American Red Cross.
Patricia leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Shan (LW) and Joe (Shay); grandchildren, Raegan and John Patrick; siblings, James Anderson, Opal Landrum (Howard), Alatha Stokes, Jackie Killings, Michael Anderson; brother-in-law, Larry Marzette; four maternal aunts, Marge Porch, Josie Rush, Gertrude Rankin, Betty Price; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
