Funeral Services for Mr. Ocie Johnson, Jr. were held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church, 10881 Ararat Road, Toxey, Alabama with Rev. McSellin Ray, Officiating. Interment, followed in the church cemetery.

Mr. Ocie Johnson, Jr. was born on September 12, 1945 in Butler, AL to the union of the late Ocie Johnson Sr. and Callie Johnson. He was called to eternal rest on November 4, 2023 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. He was proceeded in death by his parents and siblings: Mary Lee Ray, Harry Johnson, Bennie (Claria Bell) Johnson, Dave (Gracie B.) Robinson, Nathaniel Johnson, Tereatha Johnson, Laura (Willie) Collins, Virginia Johnson, Sara B. (James) Faile, and Annie Kate Johnson (Harvey) Eaton.

He was a member of the Springhill Missionary Baptist Church, Toxey, Alabama. He attended school until the 9th grade. He worked at the MacMillan and Bloedel Mill and later went to work at other mills. He was married to his wife, Bessie, for 56 years.

He is survived by his wife, Bessie Johnson of Butler, AL; his children: Cynthia (Will) Anderson, Carolyn Johnson, Ocie (Stacy) Johnson III, Ann (Cory) Roberts, and Tenia (Terry) Tubbs; seven grandchildren, Courtenay, Ashley (James) Balentine, Brandon (Ashley) Smith, Ocie Johnson IV, Antonio Johnson, Amber Anderson, and Hannah Anderson; great-grandchildren, Trevion, Kourtenay, Karson, Jhelaya, Jaxston, Elijah, Eliyanah, Aliyah, Courtenay Jr., and Princess; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
