Mel is Mae Holley Dubose, 80, was born on April 3, 1944, to the late Joe Holley and Linnie O'Field Holley in Cromwell, Alabama.
She entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, in Meridian, Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings: Jimmie Lee Holley, Emma Lee (Holley) Johnson, Lawrence Holley, Johnny Rufus Holley, Sr., Joe Holley, Minnie Lee (Holley) Brown, and Evis Holley.
Melvia accepted Christ at an early age and joined John the Baptist Missionary Baptist Church in Halsell, Alabama. She was united in holy matrimony to Charlie Dubose on September 29, 1963. After marriage, she joined Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church. Melvia was employed at Georgia-Pacific for 25 years. She loved spending time with her family, and one of her landmark family functions was when she hosted the Family Easter Egg Picnic for 10 years.
Mel is leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Charlie Dubose of Jachin, AL; her children, Chico Dubose of Tuscaloosa, AL; Brad (Beverly) Dubose of Slidell, LA; Rodney (Angela) Dubose of Lisman, AL, and Nicole Dubose of Jachin, AL; her grandchildren: Arieana Dubose, LaTerra Dubose, Quentia Dubose, Aushanta Dubose, Casey Prevost, Cassie Cuevas, Shamarcus (Shareta) Dubose, Dexter Gordon, Quindarius (Shaguavia)Pringle, Aaron (Ashleigh Elayne) Dubose, Christopher Dubose, Steven Ford, Kristinna Ford, Destiny Johnson, Quaniya Dubose, and Summer Smith; 17 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Melinda Ruffin, Oranee (Robert) Brown, Ruby (Jerome) Ivy, and Sofia Holley; her sisters-in-law: Wilma Holley, Frances Holley, Betty Ruffin, and Louise Holley; her auntie-in-law, Leola Portis; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends; lifelong friends: Lucille Ray, Clara Dickinson, and Daisy Dees.
