Funeral Service for Mary Sims was held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church, 1760 Shady Grove Road, Silas, Alabama 36919.  Interment, C&J Church Cemetery, Silas, Alabama.  Rev. Cleo McGrew, Sr., Officiating.  Rev. Melvin Newell, Pastor.

Mary Sims was born on May 2, 1940, to the late JC and Olivia Thompson.  Mary departed this life on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at her home.

Mary was a person that loved people and loved her telephone.  Her favorite saying was, "how's it going."

Mary leaves to cherish her memories: a devoted friend of 42 years, Francis Simmons, better known as, "Miami"; seven sisters, Jessie Hill (Will Hill-deceased) of Tampa, Florida; Lottie Hill (Willie Hill-deceased) of Silas, Alabama; Francis Nicholson (Linsey Nicholson) of Silas, Alabama; Elnora Nicholson (Leedale Nicholson-deceased) of Silas, Alabama; Shirley McKinnis (Theodore McKinnis) of Silas, Alabama; Maxine Woodard (Willie Woodard) of Silas, Alabama; Louise Thompson of Silas, Alabama; one brother: Joe Lewis (Helen Thompson-deceased); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mary was also preceded in death by her two (2) brothers: James Thompson and Odell Thompson.
