Mamie Pearl Cornelius Jowers was born on October 4, 1924 in Sweet Water, AL to the late Sue Willie Tensley and Coleman Jowers. She departed this earthly life on January 20, 2022 at the home of her daughter. She was preceded in death by her two great loves, Jesse Earl Rodgers and James Wesley Cornelius; five siblings, Mary Emma Jowers, Ella Bell Adams, Creola Evans, Vernon Jowers, LC Jowers; three
children, Johnnie Pearl Rodgers, Peggie Goodwin, Jerry Cornelius; and seven grandchildren, Cynthia Eirby, Precious Angel Rodgers, La'January Mosley, Robert Rodgers (Karen), Johnny Eirby, Ivory Eirby, and Johnny Rodgers, Jr..

She leaves to cherish her memories: eight children, Sadie Abogun (Elijah), Mary R. Chaney, Sue Valles (Luis), Johnny Rodgers (Joanne), Jessie Goodwin, James Cornelius, Jr., Voncile Sanders (Lanny), Elouise Cornelius (Nuris); grandchildren, Glen Goodwin, John Goodwin, Yolanda Goodwin, April Crawford (Sebastian), Harry O'Field (Teresa), Peggie Diane Taylor (Derran), Willie Rodgers (Sara) Maurice Eirby, Jacory Eirby, Michael Rodgers, Dana Rodgers (Rayshel), Samantha Goodwin, Jocelyn Rodgers, Willie Goodwin, Jr., Lakisha Goodwin, Latrice Cornelius, James Cornelius, III, James Cornelius IV, Giovanni Cornelius, Mario Mosley; and a host of great grandchildren; great- great grandchildren, godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and a special friend, Mae Helen Walker.
