Graveside service for Lewis Jackson, III was held Monday, July 19, 2021 at 11:00am at Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Al Smith officiating.

Lewis Jackson, III, affectionately known as Bollie, was born on October 18, 1941 inMt. Sterling, Alabama to the late Lewis Jackson, Jr. and Daisy Mae Ridgeway Jackson. He was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 15, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Jr. and Daisy Jackson; his sister, Susie Mae Young; nephews, George James Clark and Ivory L. Young, Jr.; and a brother-in-law, Otis Butler.

Bollie accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age, joining Lily Baptist Church near the family home. He later   joined Morning Star Baptist Church where he was a long-time member until he was called home tobe with the Lord.

He received his early education in the Choctaw County Public Schools, graduating from Choctaw County Training School in 1960.
He then studied Brick Masonry at Wenonah State Vocational Technical School in Birmingham which later became Lawson State Community College. Bollie joined the United States Army in 1964 and received an honorable discharge a few years later. He joined the Air National Guard in 1967 and served until his retirement in 1991. His military service included tours of duty with Operation Desert Storm and time in
the Dominican Republic and Vietnam. He was also a 33rd degree Mason and member of the Golden Gate Lodge 654.

In 1966, Bollie met the love of his life, Mildred Green, and married her two years later. To this union two children were born, Timini
and his namesake, Lewis IV (affectionately known as Fourth).

Bollie was the successful owner and operator of Lewis Jackson Brick Masonry for 34 years.

Lewis Jackson IV is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Mildred; his children, Dr. Timini Una Jackson Edwards
(Dr. Marcus B. Edwards) and Lewis Jackson IV; two grandchildren, Marcus Benjamin Edwards II and Garrison Lewis Edwards; five siblings, Laura M, Underwood (Vernon), Christella Butler, Shirley Marie Jackson (Roosevelt), Earline Jackson, Bobbie Jean Tolliver, and brother-in-law, Ivory L. Young, Sr.; five godchildren, Dr. Tonjanita Walker, Dr. Tiffany Coleman, Ms. Whitney Coleman, Mr. Ricky Bernard Bush, II and Mr. Jalen Deontae Bush; one adopted daughter, Martha Ann Ruffin; a special friend, Mr. Townsend Wilcox; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, other relatives and long-time friends
