Funeral Service for Deacon Lee Charles Ruffin will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Wahalak Missionary Baptist Church, 1177 Wahalak Road, Butler, Alabama.  Rev. Shern Collins, Sr., Pastor & Officiant. Interment, Wahalak Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Lee Charles Ruffin was born May 28, 1939, to the late Bessie Collins Ruffin and Lonzy Ruffin.

He joined Wahalak Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 12. He served as a Sunday School Youth Teacher, Church Superintendent, and as a Deacon.

He graduated from Choctaw County Training High School in Lisman, Alabama, where he enlisted in the Army Reserve from 1958-1964.

After military service, he worked at DCH in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Choctaw General Hospital in Butler, Alabama.  From there he was employed by James Rivers Corporation, where he ended his 32-year career as a supervisor.

Lee met the love of his life at Choctaw County Training High School in Lisman, Alabama, Beatrice Tanks. To whom he married and to this union four children were born, Belinda, Helen, Emmit, and Cheryl Ruffin.  Lee departed this life on February 08, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Ernest, Wilson, Floyd, Louis, and Jimmy; sisters: Mandy, Earlene, Gladys, Rose, Viola, Inell, and Queen.

Lee leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Beatrice; his four children: Belinda (Eric) Walker, Helen (Glenn) Johnson, Emmit (Wanda) Ruffin, Cheryl (Jessie) Potts; his four grandchildren: Chris Walker, April Adams, Bianca Ruffin, Lauren Walker, along with other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
