Graveside Service for Lavelle Glenn-Gaines were held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at the Fairview Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 2975 Tuscahoma Road, Butler, Alabama with Rev. Jimmy Johnson, Officiating. Rev. Wendell Charleston, Church Pastor.

LavelleGlenn-Gaines, age 67, of Butler, Alabama died Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Merit Wesley Health in Hattiesburg, MS.

Lavelle was born April 13, 1955 in Yantley, AL, the daughter of the late Lamar Sr. and the late Annie Ruth (Ruffin) Glenn.

She worked for Choctaw County Extension Office-The B.E.E. Program for ten years. Lavelle was a daughter, sister, wife, aunt, great aunt, niece, cousin, sister-in-law, friend, grandma, and a loving mother, who enjoyed life.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Herman Gaines of Butler, AL; four children, Darrell Sr. (Polly) Glenn, Columbus, OH; Rhonda Gaines, Columbus, OH; Erica Gaines and Angela Gaines, Butler, AL; five grandchildren, Darrell, Jr., Darnell, Ryon, Chloe, and Mikhi; three brothers, Eddie Carl (Roxanne) Glenn, Columbus, OH; Robert (Gloria) Glenn, Pushmataha, AL; Michael Glenn, Columbus,
OH; one uncle, Clinton Ruffin Sr.; five aunts, Loreene Carter, Bea Coleman, Bertha Bell, Edith Ruffin and Emma Jean Webster; one brother-in-law, Jessie (Cindy) Gaines; five sisters-in-law, Wanda Glenn, Katherine Glenn, Joanne (Eugene) Duff, Patty Colquitt and Doris (James) Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Aiden Chess; brothers, Lamar Glenn Jr, and Alfred Glenn; sister, Teresa Glenn.
