Service for Joyce Ann President, age 63, were held Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 1:00pm at St. Thomas
A.M.E. Zion Church in Ward, AL with Rev. Linda Sims-Lilly officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Joyce Ann President was born May 21, 1959 in Choctaw County, AL to the late Sam and Emma Law President. She passed away peacefully at her residence on October 30, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Emma President; sisters, Rosie President, Lisa
President-ones, Doris President-Chess; her grandparents; and a host of other family members.

Joyce was a 1977 graduate of Choctaw County High School. After graduation, she attended Selma University where she majored in Psychology and joined the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. She worked for many years as a Bartender, as well as, a Cook.

Joyce was a member of St. Thomas A.M.E. Zion Church, formerly known as Edna Mission A.M.E. Zion Church and Greater Edna Mission, where she served as a choir member.

She is survived by her soulmate of 38 years, Carey Lee Johnson; children, Tamara (Archie) Turner of Eufaula, AL, Samantha President of
York, AL, Carey (LaClara) President of Pennington, AL, Curell (Larry) Suttle and Durell (Jameca) President, both of Tuscaloosa, AL; sisters, Margaret (Andretti) Carter of Butler, AL, Loretta President and Cheryl (John) Handy, both of Ward, AL; one brother, Roy (Marilyn) Capers of New Orleans, LA; one adopted sister; one adopted brother; eighteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; ; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
