Funeral Service for Joe Louis Turner, 80, was held Friday, December 23, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Dewayne Gavin officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Joe Louis Turner was born May 7, 1942 to the late Rev. Robert and Sarah Turner in Mt. Sterling, AL. He was called home on December 11, 2022. He was preceded In death by his parents, Rev. Robert and Sarah Turner; his siblings, Charles, Lucille, Arriee, Ebbie, Earline, Johnny, Mary, William, Fred, Dannie, Robert and Elizabeth.

Joe was a God-fearing man and accepted Christ at an early age under the teaching of his father at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church.

In 1962 Joe married and from this union four children were born. They moved to Detroit, MI to create a better life for his family. He worked for Chrysler UAW for many years then transferred to become a manager at APCOA Parking until his retirement. He later moved back to Alabama where he returned as a faithful member of Fairview Baptist Church serving as a member of the trustee board, choir and other duties.

Joe leaves to cherish his memories his siblings, Willie and Ora; his children, Ronnie (Kim) Angela (Eric), Gloria, Paula, Joey, Carlos (Yolanda) and Natasha; bonus children, William (Elaine), Tywanna (Martha) and Nikeisha; thirty-one grandchildren; avery special friend, Eliza Thompson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
