Funeral Services for Jennifer Renae Gilmore-Houston was held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 12 p.m. at Cooper's C.M.E. Church, 214 Cooper Mission Road, Jachin, Alabama with Pastor Luther Edwards, Officiating.  Interment, Ward Chapel Cemetery, 8541 Pine Grove Road, Ward, Alabama.

Jennifer Renae Gilmore-Houston was born at Sumter Memorial Hospital, Livingston, Alabama, on February 19, 1981. She was the only child born to the late Mattie Pearl Gilmore. Often referred to as "Jenny or Jen," she peacefully transitioned at Baptist Anderson Hospital, Meridian, Mississippi.

Jennifer accepted Christ at an early age and united with Cooper's Mission C.M.E. Church, serving as a stewardess and assisting in order capacities of the church as needed. She was a devoted and loving mother to her two sons, Brian Jr. and Brayden. She was always participating in and promoting their educational endeavors. She instilled in them the value of prayer and to always put God first in their lives. She was a loving and devoted companion and wife to her husband, Brian Sr., for more than 25 years, uniting in holy matrimony on May 21, 2018, until her death. Her entire life was marked by an unwavering love for her family, a friendly demeanor and a loving spirit that touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Jennifer graduated from Choctaw County High School in 1999. She attended the University of West Alabama, Livingston, Alabama and Alabama State University, Montgomery, Alabama.  She resided in Mobile, Monroeville, and Montgomery where she was employed as a Security Guard at the Capitol building.  Following the death of her mother, she returned to Choctaw County where she devoted her life to helping family members, neighbors, and friends.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her loving mother, Mattie Pearl Gilmore; her infant sister, Silvia L. Gilmore; father, Willie James Dubose; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dora and Leon Houston.

Those who remain to cherish her loving memories: her husband, Brian Houston, Sr.; two sons, Brian Jr. and Brayden; two sisters, Barbara Luden and Shirley Young; two devoted and loving aunts, Lizzie Gilmore and Willie Danner; aunts, Bertha Gilmore, Natchez, Mississippi and Jennie Gilmore, Los Angeles, California; two sisters-in-law, Valerie Houston, Monroe, Alabama and Angela Houston, Montgomery, Alabama; one brother-in-law, Leon Houston Jr., Gautier, Mississippi; two special cousins, Kary Danner and Lajuan Gilmore; close friends, Tanji Washington, Melinda Grayson, Phyllis Pender, Avory Richardson, Vanessa Pinder, Yutaka Chess; and a host of other relatives and friends.
