James D. Ezell, born March 28, 1964, passed away peacefully at his residence on March 5, 2026.

James grew up in Choctaw County, where he attended and graduated from Choctaw County High School. He spent more than 40 years working as a dedicated truck driver; a career that reflected his strong work ethic and belief in working hard for the things you want in life.

James was a simple Southern man who found joy in the little things. He loved spending time with his family, watching birds, fishing, and reminiscing about the many memories he made throughout his life. Some of his happiest moments were spent rocking on the porch on a sunny day with a slight breeze in the air.  He had a deep love for animals and the outdoors and enjoyed the peacefulness of nature.

He was known as a friendly and generous man who enjoyed chatting with people throughout his community. James was a big giver who truly enjoyed helping others in need whenever he could.  Throughout his life, he went on many adventures and created lasting memories with those he loved.

James is survived by his wife, Geraldine Ezell; children, Kendra Ezell, Charles & Roslyn Connor and grandchildren; sisters & brothers-in-law, Ertha Adams & George Adams, Bonita Carter, Sharon Anderson & Cedric Anderson, Kumeka Ridgeway & James Ridgeway; brothers & sisters-in-law, Michael Ezell, Curtis Ezell & Cynthia S. King Ezell, Billy David Exell & Teresa Lavon Ezell; and a host of family and friends.
