Funeral Service for Irene Glover Rackley was held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Butler Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, 713 DeSoto Road, Butler, Alabama.  Interment, Butler Chapel A.M.E. Irene Glover Rackley was born in Butler, Alabama on August 7, 1944, to the late Odell Glover and Gladys Blakley.  She was adopted by Mary and Edward Gaines.

She made her peaceful transition, to rest safely in the arms of the Almighty, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calloway Rackley; her parents, Odell Glover, Gladys Blakley, Mary Gaines and Edward Gaines.

Irene confessed Christ at an early age and joined Butler Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church.

Irene attended Lisman Training School.  Afterwards, she met and married Calloway Rackley.  To this union three children were born: one daughter and two sons.

Irene was employed at Livingston Fashion, IGA Food Service, Professional Cleaners, and Willow Trace Nursing Home.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: one devoted daughter, Remona Johnson (Merrill), of Butler, Alabama; two devoted sons, Curtis Rackley of Saraland, Alabama and Devon Rackley of Butler, Alabama; three grandchildren that she adopted: two boys, Damine Rackley, Dominick Rackley, and one girl, Kaylee Rackley, all of Butler, Alabama. Grandchildren: Steven Coleman (Takiesha), Merrill Johnson, Jr. (Courtney), Jarvis Johnson, Darryl Ruffin and Reginald Summage (Latika), Shakisha Johnson, Quenisha Watson and Quanise Johnson; 22 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; four sisters: Glady Shuff (John), of Gaffney, South Carolina; Shirley Johnson, Cathy Jones (Roosevelt), and Kim Glover, all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; special sister, Carolyn Whitted, Butler, Alabama; five brothers, Odell Wilson (Para), of Demopolis, Alabama; William Glover and Robert Glover, both of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Henry Cowsen of Gaffney, South Carolina; Gerard  Glover of Phoenix, Arizona; uncle, Willie Glover (Mamie), of Butler, Alabama; sisters-in-law, Christen Moss of Sacramento, California; Ruth Rackley, Bessie Brown (Danny), Judy Eddie, Willie Jewel Rackley, all of Butler, Alabama; devoted special cousins, Marilyn Manning, Oneita Thompson and Janet Glover of Butler, Alabama, and Jermaine Glover of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
