Gladys L. Foster was born August 28, 1949 in Langsdale, MS to Jessie Lee Jones and Earl Ruffin, Sr.  She departed this earthly life on July 19, 2024.  She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Evans; one granddaughter, Temperance Foster; her mother, Jessie Lee Moore; father, Earl Ruffin, Sr., Floyd Moore, Sr., Mary Patterson; siblings, James Earl Thomas, Floyd Moore, Jr., James Paul Moore, Ruby Moore; son-in-law, Richard Nicholson; and brother-in-law, Joe Aldridge.

Gladys joined Mt. Moriah Baptist Church at an early age.. She lived in Miami for over thirty years and moved back home later in life.  She also lived in Stockbridge, GA and attended Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Ellenwood, GA for many years.  There she accepted Christ as her Savior.

She loved working outside in the yard and had many hobbies such as making flower baskets; sewing clothes, curtains, etc.  Most of all she loved God and her family and friends and had a heart of gold.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Cenither Nicholson, Sandra F. Moore, Daniel (Sherry) Foster, Cedrick (Renesha) Foster; 14 grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a special grandson, Tavares Foster (Tivo) of Livingston, AL; siblings, Claude (Hazel) Moore, Pearlie Moore, Rogenia (Lee) Roscoe, Earl Ruffin, Jr., Ruth Moore, Earlene Ruffin, Milton Ruffin, Bernice (Bruce) Lewis, JoAnn Aldridge, Jamilah (Aaron) Pace, Vicky (Robert) Staten, Sharon (Gregory) Pace, Willie (Pat) Ruffin, Mary Joyce (Brad) Osborne; and one son-in-law, Richard Nicholson.
