Obituary

Graveside Service for Geneva Grant Crowell, age 75, was held Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 12:00 noon at Shiloh CME Church Cemetery with Bro. Joseph Zeigler officiating.

Sister Geneva Crowell was born March 20, 1946 in Choctaw County, Alabama to the late Charlie Ed Grant, Sr. and Elgenia Grant. She departed this earthly life on June 10, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Crowell; her parents, Charlie Ed Sr.
and Elgenia Grant; brother, Charlie Ed Grant, Jr.; and a grandson, Rodney Gaines.

Geneva was educated at Choctaw County Training School in Lisman, AL and attended college after her graduation. She was employed for many years as secretary at East Choctaw Junior High School in Butler, AL. Geneva accepted Jehovah in her life and joined the Kingdom Hall and became a life-long member. She enjoyed decorating and helping others with whatever they needed to get done. She had a "heart of gold" and was very compassionate.

Geneva leaves to cherish her memory: three children, son, Kelvin Coleman of Atlanta, GA, daughter, Cecilia Coleman of Meridian, MS, and devoted son, Darren Grant of Lisman, AL; twelve grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two brothers, Willie Ed (Bessie) Grant of Chicago, IL, Earnest Grant of Birmingham, AL; two sisters, Ruthie Grant, Mary Ann Grant, both of Lisman, AL; a sister-in-law, Mary Merrida Grant
of Lisman, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
