Obituary

Frank Anderson DuBose was born September 15, 1955.  He passed away on July 31, 2025 at the age 0f 69.  He was preceded in death by  his mother, Addie B. Jones; sister, Sadie DuBose; brother-in-law, Rev. Fred Smith; and mother-in-law, DeLois Brown.

Frank accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Fairview MB Church in Mt. Sterling, AL.  He grew up in the Little Walker Community of Butler, AL.  Frank was a 1974 graduate of Choctaw County Training School where he played baseball and this led to a scholarship to Selma University.  He completed his education at Stillman College with a degree in Business.

Frank loved to watch his favotite sports team.  We all had no choice but to stop and realize he put every ounce of his soul into his number one team, the Dallas Cowboys.  Frank should have been called to coach the Cowboys. He never hit the TV  but the TV should have been  tired especially  when there was a bad play.  He fired so many players/coaches but never received a dime. So when the season was over, he moved on to the Boston Celtics and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Family was a top priority to Frank and he showed it daily. He was truly a hard worker and dedicated to being on time and staying late.  Frank worked for 47 years as a Security Guard both in Milwaukee and Marietta until he retired in 2025.  He worked when nobody else would show up. Even on holidays, he was there.  When he was off, you had to find out if he was okay; he was truly a good man/person.  The  late night calls from his job were funny as can be especially when he knew that the new person wasn't going to be there for long. He knew he was going to be working a double shift.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Secrest; stepchildren, Edgar Ricks (Yosonda) and Romi Clingen; sisters-in--law, Yvonne Garner (Mike), Sherley Kimble, Sharon Ceesay (Alhagie), Stephanie Hill (Elzy), Catherine Flowers; brother-in-law, Ronald Secrest; step granddaughter, Tori Mister; sister, Emma Smith; nieces, Barbara Smith, Elsie McDaniel; great nephews, Marcus Smith, Rev. Eric Smith (Kiannia); three great great nieces, Samayh Smith, Savannah Sikora, Nataliyah Smith; one great great nephew, Marshaun Smith; and a host of family and friends that loved him.
