Funeral Service for Rev. Dock Lake was held Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Morning Star Baptist Church in Butler, AL with Rev. AL Smith officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Jachin, AL.

Reverend Dock Lake was born March 25, 1955 to the late Leo Nixon and Pauline Office in York, AL. He entered eternal rest on January 4, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Dees Lake; his son, Doc Lakendrick Dees; and his parents, Leo Nixon and
Pauline Office.

Reverend Lake was actively involved with the NAACP as a member and as President. He also worked many years with the Gilfield
District Association and the Kinterbish District of Congress. He accepted his call into the ministry and was installed as the pastor of             Mt. Mariah Missionary Baptist Church, Ward, AL on January 12, 2020.

Reverend Lake leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters, Ecstasy Dees-Ruffin (Ralph) and Ashley Dees, both of Jachin, AL; one son, Renoda Knighton, Greenville, MS; five grandchildren, Jaliyah Williams, Markarious Dixon, Jr., Calice Beal, Teeciya House, Teran
Warren; four great grandchildren, Khizah Williams, Camille Monroe, Ja'layzia Jones, Detreyvian Warren; four brothers, Albert Office, Leo Nixon, Jr., Tommy Nixon, Lennie Nixon; three sisters, Mamie Nixon (Frank), Bonnie Nixon (Author) Lois Nixon; three sisters-in-law, Mary Artis (Dennis), Gracie Gordon (Willie), Maggie Dees (Winston); two brothers-in-law, Frank Dees , Jr. (Jackie), Maurice Dees (Sonya); Mt. Mariah Baptist Church Family; Morning Star Baptist Church Family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
