Sister Delsena Nelson Philon was born to the late Tellie and Velma Nelson on January 30, 1945 in Silas, Alabama. She was a resident all of her life and joined Shiloh Baptist Church at an early age.

She is preceded in death by: five brothers, Levi Nelson, Gus Nelson, James Nelson, Fred Nelson and Sam Nelson; a sister, Catherine McGrew; and a granddaughter, Nyria Mason.

She leaves to cherish her memories: a devoted husband of twenty-six years, Mr. Charles Philon; four sisters-in-law, Linda Nelson of Duluth, Georgia, Veinshane Nelson of San Antonio, Texas, Carrie Stewart and Levon McGrew, both of Silas, Alabama; five children, Lester Nelson, Clarence (Gina) Nelson, Anthony (Tamela) Mason, Ladell (Robia) Mason, and Glenn Mason, all of Silas Alabama; three step-children, Darren (Tessa) Philon of Silas, Alabama, Christina (Arick) Campbell of Toxey, Alabama and Amanda (Curtis) Grayson of Waynesboro, Mississippi; one devoted grandson, Quentin Mason, whom she treated like her own; twenty grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a devoted friend, Vivian McDonald; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
