Service for Dannie Mae Johnson, age 81, was held Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 11:00am at Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Butler, AL with Rev. Samuel Duff officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Dannie Mae was born June 24, 1941 to Dan Ray and Egella Dent. She departed this life on May 6, 2023 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Johnson; her parents, Dan Ray and Egella Dent; and a sister, Alice McMillan Smith.

Dannie gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a lifetime, dedicated member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church where she attended and participated regularly until her health declined. She retired from United Security Bank after over 40 years of dedicated employment.

She leaves to cherish her memories: three children, Lisa (Randy) Ruffin, Opelika, AL; Marvin (Faye) Johnson, Austin, TX; Kevin (Stephanie) Johnson, Helena, AL; seven grandchildren, Danielle Ruffin, Kambrin Johnson, James Ruffin, Kalyn Johnson, Kelyce Johnson, Kelcey Johnson, Kennedi Johnson; three sisters, Shirley Minor, Cynthia (Foster) Nelson, Yvette (Kerry) Gowdy; two brothers, David Watson, Robert (Ruby) Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
