Curtis Deloach was born June 29, 1940, in Choctaw County to the late Edward Deloach and Mary Deloach. He was the second born of 11 children, and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mose and Annie Ward, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wes and Bennie Deloach.
Curtis married Vernice James, and from this union, six children were born.
He was educated at the Choctaw County Training School. Curtis was employed with 7-Up Bottling Company in Cleveland, Ohio for several years before moving back to Alabama. While back in Alabama, Curtis was the man in the neighborhood that many could depend on.
He was proceeded in death by his wife, Vernice Deloach; parents, Joe and Mary Deloach; three brothers, Joe, James, and Maurice Deloach.
He leaves to cherish his memory four sons: Curtis (Cheryl) Shelton Deloach, Cleveland, OH; Calvin (Margaret) Williams, Linden, AL; Clinton (Marylin) Shelton, Brandon, MS; Emmery Shelton, Butler, AL; two daughters, Sandra Chaney, Butler, Alabama; Melody (James) Reed, Meridian, MS; five brothers, Edward Deloach, Jerome (Vicky) Deloach, Robert (Denise) Deloach, Darren Deloach, all of Jachin, AL; Lloyd (Jonel) Deloach, Meridian, MS; two sisters, Bennie Crosby, Jachin, AL, Annie (Percy) Watkins, York, AL; 11 grandchildren, Ashleigh (Antwon), Sanchez, Taheshia (Rodricka), Javaris, Ieshia, Aaliyah (Robert), Aja, Johnny, Linton, Shaquita, Samone; 14 great- grandchildren; two bonus daughters, Keisha Willard, Montgomery, AL and Kendra Coleman, Lisman, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends
