Funeral Service for Bro. Coley Lorenzo Dukes was held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at the Millwood Baptist Church, 185 Old Lock Road, Pennington, AL with Rev. Lenoise Richey, Officiating. Interment, Woodall Cemetery, Pennington, AL.
Brother Coley Lorenzo Dukes was born September 29, 1939, to the union of Lucy Rodgers Dukes and Dan Dukes in Choctaw County, Alabama.
He confessed his life to Christ at an early age and became a member of Millwood Primitive Baptist Church.
He departed his life Sunday evening, October 19, 2025, at Whitfield Regional Hospital, Demopolis, Alabama.
He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Monica (Ricky) Nicholson, Butler, Alabama; son, Jessie Dukes, Cleveland, Ohio. Also, children he reared as his own: Tammy (Charles) Compton, Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Lafredrick (Shannan) Turner, Plano, Texas; Jessie (Byron) Pennington, Alabama; Jesse, Pennington, Alabama; Thelma Coleman, Butler, Alabama; Woody, Leatha (Eddie), and Wilma (Garland), all of Loraine, Ohio; one living brother: Leandrew (Gladys) Dukes, Miami, Florida; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, special nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by: "The Love of His Life," Creola Evans; one daughter: Lucy Dukes; eight brothers: Daniel, Leon, Jimmy, Jessie, Jerry, Herman, Howard, and Sammie; two sisters: Hazel and Estelle.
