Yantley
Funeral Services for Christian Sion DuBose were held Saturday, October 4, 2025 @ 1:00pm at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church, 12379 Co. Rd 32, Lisman, AL 36912 where Rev. Robert Webb, Sr. serves as Pastor and Pastor Barney Holcombe officiated. Interment followed at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Concord Rd, Lisman, AL.
Christian was born on November 28, 2004 at Riley Memorial Hospital in Meridian, MS to Crystal DuBose and Dion Hawkins. On September 19, 2025, Christian Sion DuBose, better known as Bubba to some and Moses to others, was called home to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Apostle Curtis DuBose, Sr. and Min. Willie S. DuBose.
Christian began his education at T.J. Harris Elementary School in Meridian, MS (K-2nd grade); he later attended Choctaw County Elementary School (3rd-6th grades) and advanced to Choctaw County High School (7th-12th grade) where he graduated with honors as number nine in his class. Christian was accepted to the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL where he chose to major in Food and Nutrition because of his passion for the Culinary Arts.
Christian was baptized at age one by Chief Apostle W. T. Traylor of New Covenant Ministries of the World, Inc. He attended True Light Holiness Church of Yantley, AL where his grandfather, Apostle Curtis S. DuBose, Sr. was his Pastor. He also loved attending Emmanuel Temple under the leadership of Pastor Barney Holcombe where he eagerly learned the Word of God and enjoyed playing the guitar alongside Pastor Holcombe after service.
To know Christian was to love him. He had a way of protecting others and making people feel seen, valued, and cared for. His playful nature, compassion, and ability to bring light into any room will forever be remembered. Christian loved cooking, video games, drawing, dancing, making and listening to music, cheering for his favorite team (Roll Tide!), and spending time with his siblings. He will also be remembered for his joyful exclamation, "LET'S GO!" Christian's life reflected faith, love, determination, and perseverance. His favorite color was green, and for those who loved him, that color will always symbolize his vibrant life and spirit. The legacy he leaves behind will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
Christian leaves to cherish his memory: his loving parents, Crystal DuBose of Yantley, AL and Dion Hawkins of Montgomery, AL; his siblings, Christina and Christopher DuBose of Yantley, AL; his grandmother, Kathe Love; his best friend, Mavrick Kennedy; his maternal aunt, Cheryl Moore; and a host of additional siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him deeply.
