Sister Bonnie Curtis Gaines, known to many as "Bonnie Jean" or "Ms. Bonnie", was not only a mother and grandmother, but a very loved and special person to many.

Bonnie was born on December 11, 1948, to the late Willie P. and Lucy Mae Curtis.

She graduated from Lisman High School. Bonnie confessed her life at an early age and joined St. Mary United Methodist Church where she served in many roles within the church.

She was a very faithful and loyal member until her death.

Although Bonnie was a mother to two daughters, she was a mother to many, She babysat most of her life for anyone who needed her help and was also a foster parent with Choctaw County Department of Human Resources for over 30 years to many children.

On October 18, 1967, Bonnie was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Willie Louis Gaines, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Willie P. Curtis, Sr. and Lucy Ridgeway Curtis, her brothers, Willie Curtis, Jr. (Willie P) and James Curtis (Lil Buddy, Shawty, her baby sister, Carrie Curtis Gamble, and her granddaughter, Aubreigh Pearson.

Bonnie departed this life on Sunday, June 8, 2026, at her daughter's residence in Columbus, GA.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her daughters, Amy Woolfolk of Columbus, GA, and Shuntale (Kunte) Mosley of Butler, AL. Four grandchildren: Jalen Woolfolk, Enterprise, AL, Alexis Woolfolk and Morgan Woolfolk, Columbus, GA, and Aubriella Mosley, Butler, AL.

Three sister-in-law, Berlean Curtis, Putnam, AL, Essie Ridgeway, Butler, AL, and Floretta Perkins (Thomas), Mattapan, MA. One brother-in-law, Wilske Gamble, Putnam, AL. One great aunt, Sarah Roper, Chatom, AL. Her devoted friends, Suzette Williams, Lilie Carter, Mildred Jackson, and Vera Mosley, her godson, Cornelius (Nick) Dixon, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
