Graveside Service for Billy Green Shields were held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Red house Cemetery, Lavaca, AL with Rev. Willie Vines, Officiating.
Billy Green Shields was born March 9, 1952 to the late Howard and Anell Shields in Lavaca, Alabama.
Billy's early education was at Lavaca and East Choctaw Jr. High School. He graduated from Choctaw County High School, Butler, Alabama.
Billy served in the United States Army for two years, and retired from Georgia Pacific after 29 years of service.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Anell Shields; one sister, Pearlie Shields; one brother, Howard Shields, Jr.; his grandparents, Earl and Ethel Compton; one niece, Anell Brown and one nephew, Inquinta Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Fredrick White, Shannon Pond, and Christopher Shields; three (3) grandchildren, Donell Bailey, Jr., Madison Evans, and Aniyah White; his siblings, Freeman Shields, Henry (Hattie) Shields, Bettye White, Inell (Richard) Grayson, Larry Shields, Ronald (Barbara) Shields, Donald Shields, Sr., Carolyn (Robert) Shields; two (2) aunts, Mary Thomas and Joyce Clifton; sixteen (16) nieces, twenty-one (21) great nieces, six (6) great-great nieces, six (6) nephews, twenty-one (21) great nephews, eight (8) great-great nephews; a devoted close friend and caretaker, Kimberly Ruffin; a daughter-in-love, Kimesha Hopson; two (2) grandkids-in-love, Kamari Morris and Raheem Hopson, Jr.; a host of other relatives and friends.
