Funeral Services for Bernice Philon Tartt were held Sunday, January 18, 2026 @ 2:00pm at Antioch Baptist Church, 4441 Bladen Rd, Silas, AL with Rev. Ennes D. Rankins officiating.  Interment followed at Mitchell Cemetery in Bladon Springs, AL.

Sister Bernice Philon Tartt, a native of Shady Grove, AL, and a resident of Bladon Springs, AL was born November 10, 1939 and transitioned to her eternal home on Thursday, January 08, 2026. She was born into the union of the late Huey and Clarice Philon, Sr. To this union, twelve siblings were born. Bernice was preceded in death by: her son, Leonola D. Tartt; her parents; Huey and Clarice Philon, Sr; brothers, Henry Philon, Huey Philon, Jr., J.W. Philon, W.C. Philon, Wallace Philon, Wilie Philon, Sr; and her sisters; Annice Johnson, Linnie Lewis.

Bernice moved to Bladon Springs, Alabama upon marriage and became a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She leaves to cherish her memories, a devoted husband, Deacon Robert Earl Tartt, Si; four children, Robert (anis) Tartt, Jr, Falls Church, VA, Lorenza (Emma) Tartt, Hattiesburg, MS; Willie Denise Tartt Carlisle and Rosie Marie Tart McClendon of Bladon Springs, AL; Seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one brother, Woody (Patricia) Philon, Silas, AL; one sister, Minnie Pearl Morgan, Milwaukee, WI; one brother-in-law, Deacon Richard (Normie) Tartt, Silas, AL; three sisters-in-law Frankie Tartt Pugh, Mobile, AL and two others from the Philon family); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
