Funeral Services for Bernice Delana Ruffin-Woods were held Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, 3216 Mt. Nebo Road, Lisman, Alabama with Rev. AC Ruffin, Officiating.  Rev. Marvin L. Dixon, Sr., Pastor.  Interment, Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bernice Delana Ruffin-Woods was born to the late Joe and Ruth Cary Ruffin on July 15, 1960, in Mobile, Alabama.

Bernice attended David L. Mackenzie High School in Detroit, Michigan.  Bernice graduated from Detroit Business Institute with an Associate Degree in Business Administration.  Bernice worked for Detroit Receiving Hospital in Dietary as a cook.  Her passion to cook led her to retire from Detroit Receiving Hospital to work full-time with her catering business.

Bernice was preceded in death by three siblings: Mary Kelly, Joe Ruffin, and Joe Lewis.

Bernice leaves many precious memories and an exceptional legacy to be celebrated by her husband: Steven Woods, Lisman, AL; three children: Kizzy M. Ruffin-Jones, Detroit, MI; Howard L. Rushing, Jr., Detroit, MI; Daysha R. Rushing, Lisman, AL; eight grandchildren: Keyonia, Monae, Markee, Kewane, Ga'Naysha, Cordarius, Isis, and Ka'Dean; five great-grandchildren: Jamari, Regan, Dior, Damir, and Kaylee; goddaughter: Tanisha Gardner; seven godchildren: Devontae, Monae, Markale, Dmetre, Mikala, DeAiyah, and Scottez; fivesisters: Maggie Ruffin, Lisman, AL; Carolyn Ruffin, Atlanta, GA; Linda Ruffin, Irvine, CA; Yvonne Ruffin, Detroit, MI; Leola Ruffin-Bailey (Douglas), Stonecrest, GA; five brother, Rev. AC Ruffin (Jackie), Mobile, AL; Rev. Willie Ruffin (Rose), Meridian, MS; Robert Ruffin (Elin), Denmark; Joe Tucker (Jennifer), Mobile, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews
