Celebration of Life Service for Antonio Antjuan Rodgers were held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Bobby's Community Center, 218 Marzette Road, Pennington, Alabama 36904 at 3 p.m. with Pastor Izea Blanks, Officiating.
Antonio Antjuan Rodgers was born on December 1, 1986, to George R. Chess and Peggie D. Taylor (Derran Taylor) and godmother, Yulonda Goodwin.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Louise Chess, three (3) great-grandmothers, Minnie L. Nettles, Hazel Wilson, and Mamie P. Cornelius; one (1) aunt, Thelma Jones; one (1) great-aunt, Peggie Goodwin; two (2) uncles, Charles Chess and Michael Wilson.
Antonio graduated from Choctaw County High School in Butler, Alabama. He later became a graduate of the Nashville Auto-Diesel College in Tennessee.
Antonio had a passion for working on cars and big trucks. In 2023, he earned his CDL and became a driver for AMCM. Where his "A" started off the company name.
In May of 2024, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. He fought it to the end until August 2, 2024.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a wife, LaShonda of Tuscaloosa, AL; his children, Jayla and Zachary Rodgers of Tuscaloosa, AL; Antonio Rodgers, Jr. of Butler, AL; bonus daughter, Tymia of Michigan; one (1) sister, Marquita (Jeremy) Brown of York, AL; one (1) brother, Christopher (Trinette) Spencer of Butler, AL; one (1) godbrother, Lamont Goodwin; two (2) godsisters, Brittany and Brianna Elmore; three (3) bonus sisters, Tanisha Stigger and Uniquequel Steele of Chicago, IL; Cimone (Andrew) Hamor of Washington; two (2) bonus brothers, Daquan Glaspy of Houston, TX and Ladarius of KS; grandmother, Mary R. Chaney of Butler, AL; grandfathers, Jimmy Wilson of Detroit, MI and Chatt Chess of Livingston, AL; step-grandfather, Roy Chaney of York, AL; a hosts of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends; his best friend, Ashley B. Hampton of Madison, MS.
